Mathura: A major road accident occurred late Sunday evening on the Yamuna Expressway when a double-decker bus, packed with passengers, went out of control and overturned right in the middle of the road. The mishap took place near Milestone 76, within the jurisdiction of the Nauhjheel police station. The bus was traveling from Noida to Darbhanga (Bihar) and was carrying approximately 100 passengers.

How did the police respond?

Following the accident, the scene was filled with screams and cries, and chaos ensued among the passengers. Upon receiving the information, a police team and local residents immediately rushed to the accident site. Relief and rescue operations were swiftly initiated. To extricate passengers trapped inside the bus, windows were smashed, and everyone was safely brought out, one by one.

Several passengers sustained injuries in this accident, with the condition of some reported to be critical. The injured were transported to the Community Health Center (CHC) in Nauhjheel—with the assistance of ambulances and government vehicles—where they are currently undergoing treatment. A team of doctors is closely monitoring the injured passengers.

Demonstrating promptness, the police removed the wrecked bus (bearing registration number BR02PC2291) from the road, thereby restoring the smooth flow of traffic. A traffic jam persisted on the expressway for a brief period, but the situation was subsequently brought under control. Currently, the situation remains fully under control, and the police are investigating the causes behind the accident.

More than 20 passengers sustained injuries in this accident. Upon receiving the information, a police force immediately arrived at the scene. Station House Officer (SHO) Sonu Singh and Sub-Inspector Harendra Tomar reached the spot along with their team. They promptly initiated relief and rescue operations. With the assistance of ambulances and passersby, the injured passengers were extricated from the bus. The police transported all the injured individuals to the Nauhjheel Community Health Center, where their treatment is currently underway.

Acting with promptness and efficiency, the police transported the injured to the hospital. Local residents and passersby also extended their cooperation during the rescue efforts. While some passengers have sustained serious injuries, others have suffered only minor injuries. A team of doctors at the Nauhjheel Community Health Center is currently treating the injured victims.

Where was the bus traveling?

Reports indicate that the bus was traveling from Noida to Darbhanga in Bihar. Following the accident, passengers trapped inside the vehicle were seen breaking the bus windows to make their way out.
