Amitabh Bachchan calls son Abhishek his "true inheritor" in Heartfelt Blog Post

A heartfelt message for his son, Abhishek Bachchan, was recently written by legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan. In his emotional blog, shared on Saturday, Amitabh expressed deep pride in Abhishek—not only as his child but as an artist who has earned respect through talent and courage.

Amitabh opened his blog with a quote from his father, the famous poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan: "My sons, just because you are my sons, shall not be my inheritors; they who shall be my inheritors, shall be my sons." He used this line to highlight that true inheritance comes from merit, not just from family ties.

Calling Abhishek his "true inheritor", Amitabh said that his son has chosen difficult roles and delivered strong performances. “He dared to act and be recognised,” Amitabh wrote with admiration, appreciating Abhishek’s efforts and growth as an actor.

Support for Abhishek’s New Film ‘Kaalidhar Laapata’

Earlier on the same day, Amitabh also showed public support for Abhishek’s upcoming film Kaalidhar Laapata. He posted on social media, praising Abhishek’s bold choices and talent. “Your ability to choose different roles and immerse yourself in them... a very rare quality,” Amitabh wrote, sending love and blessings.

‘Kaalidhar Laapata’ is directed by Madhumita and features Abhishek in the lead role as Kaalidhar, a man struggling with memory loss and family betrayal. The story takes a turn when Kaalidhar hears his siblings' plan to abandon him at the crowded Maha Kumbh Mela. Instead of waiting, he decides to vanish on his own. His journey takes a surprising turn when he meets Ballu, a sharp 8-year-old boy surviving alone on the streets. Their unexpected bond becomes the heart of the story.
