Thailand: A domestic help woman is making waves on the internet for travelling abroad for the first time. With the help of her employer, content creator Anish Bhagat, Reshma travelled to Thailand and also got to meet new people.
It was thrilling and little scary for Reshma to travel for the first time to an unfamiliar country. Reshma, working as a domestic helper, for the first time stepped into Thailand and had a lot of questions in her mind. By the end of the day, though, she was smiling, and it won millions of hearts. People are now sharing her story on social media about befriending with people over puran poli, which has now been going viral saying that sometimes a small moment of happiness becomes life's biggest victory.
In an Instagram reel, the Indian house help, who travelled to Thailand with the assistance of content creator Anish Bhagat, said said that she was really nervous as she didn't know anyone there. She also stated that prior to this, she had never been in a place without a man.
“I am just a house help; I don’t know anyone here, nor do I understand their language, nor do I know how to read," she said.
Reshma felt that even if you don’t share a language, food can bring people together. With that thought, she made puran poli. While walking the streets of Bangkok, she offered puran poli to a foreign tourist. That’s how her first friendship began. This small meeting that started over food is being loved by people.
Wearing a saree, Reshma also shot her first vlog in the streets of Bangkok. During this, she met a social media influencer, Popo. The two spent time together and had lunch. Reshma said that women often forget to make time for themselves amid life’s responsibilities. This trip gave her a chance to understand herself a little better.
After spending the whole day exploring and having new experiences, she told herself, 'Reshma, I'm proud of you.' That one line struck a chord with people. After the video went viral, social media users said that Reshma’s happiness, her fear, and then the way she overcame it was truly beautiful. That’s why her story is resonating with millions.
