Bengaluru: A man went on Reddit to ask for advice on how to report an online food delivery platform, Swiggy, about his friend who keeps doing a dishonest and unethical practice involving Swiggy Instamart deliveries.
That man who claimed that his friend was doing wrongdoing with Swiggy Instamart shared a post on r/swiggy; he shared that his friend in Bengaluru deliberately exploited the platform's refund system by falsely claiming missing items from his orders.
The post was called “My friend does something unethical; how can I report him to Swiggy?” The user asked Reddit, mentioning that his friend orders high-value orders on Swiggy Instamart at least one time every month. After the bag reaches him, his friend opens the Help part and says one high-price item is gone.
The post says Swiggy gives back money right away without checking more. The Reddit man said he first smiled when his friend shared the way but later saw how bad it is. “I found this funny when he told me, but now I think it’s highly unethical, and he needs to be reported,” he put in words, saying these acts are not small tricks but clear cheating that harms delivery sites and good buyers over time.
The post made many people talk on social media. Some said using support help in the wrong way is cheating and also makes things cost more and makes refund rules strict for real buyers.
A user said, "Don’t get into reporting anything and unnecessarily involving yourself. However, he will soon discover that Swiggy has blocked his account because their systems will flag him."
Another user wrote, "Stop associating yourself with such people.
People in the comment section also asked the man to report this issue immediately to Swiggy. Some of the other comments read that suggesting his friend about potential legal consequences – including his Swiggy Instamart account suspension, the company may also put you in the blacklist category, and even a police case for cheating if found out.
