New Delhi: The adorable baby monkey, Punch, who earlier was all over internet for carrying and hugging an orange plush toy after being abandoned by his mother and pushed by the other monkeys, has now found love and companionship.
Punch, who is a young macaque, has been recently been seen cuddling, kissing and clinging with a female macaque, who is believed to be named Momo-chan at Japan’s Ichikawa City Zoo.
In the video, that is now doing rounds in the internet, Punch can be seen kissing and cuddling Momo-chan.
The clips, that are now shared across social media platforms, show the young pair playfully interacting, chasing each other, leaping around, and spending time together.
The orange plush toy, which Punch was clinging to, can also be seen lying right next to them as the young pair hug and cuddle each other.
Last month a video went viral, in the clip a small Japanese macaque is seen falling on the ground, after which two big monkeys are seen pulling it. The nervous movements of the little monkey made the audience restless. The video was viewed millions of times and without knowing the background it was termed as cruelty.
The six-month-old macaque's mother did not accept him after birth and was bullied by other monkeys. Since then he has been looked after by caring staff.
Seeing him all alone, zoo workers gave him a towel and another soft toy to ease his loneliness. Punch chose the orangutan plushie and always kept it with him.
