West Bengal Elections: From PM Modi to Mithun Chakraborty and Hema Malini; BJP releases list of star campaigners (X)
Kolkata: Political activity has intensified in West Bengal for the upcoming assembly elections. Political parties have intensified their preparations. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has submitted its list of star campaigners for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026 to the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The BJP has released a list of 40 star campaigners for the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections. This list includes names ranging from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Union Ministers, Chief Ministers of various states, MPs, and film personalities.
The campaign list features names such as BJP national president Nitin Nabin, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, JP Nadda, and Dharmendra Pradhan.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also take part in multiple rallies.
Celebrities like, Mithun Chakraborty, Smriti Irani, Hema Malini, Kangana Ranaut, and Manoj Tiwari will also campaign in West Bengal. Leander Paes will also be seen campaigning for the BJP.
The list also includes leaders such as Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, Anurag Thakur, Annapurna Devi, Arjun Munda, and Babulal Marandi in its list of star campaigners.
Prominent leaders such as Samrat Chaudhary, Sunil Bansal, Biplab Kumar Deb, Mangal Pandey, Amit Malviya, Samik Bhattacharya, Suvendu Adhikari, Dilip Ghosh, Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, Santanu Thakur, Raju Bista, Dr. Jayanta Kumar Roy, Manoj Tigga, and Bijan Goswami are also included in the list.
The BJP has announced candidates for 292 assembly seats in West Bengal. The party has announced the names of 144 candidates in the first list, 111 in the second list, 19 in the third list, 13 in the fourth list, and five in the fifth list.
Voting in West Bengal will be held in two phases. The first phase will take place on April 23 and the second phase on April 29, with the election results being declared on May 4.
