Spiritual News: Chhath, the great festival of faith and sun worship, is now going to conclude with Usha Arghya. On Sunday, October 26, the devotees started a 36-hour waterless fast by taking the Prasad of Kharna, which ends after offering Arghya to the rising sun. This year Usha Arghya will be offered on the morning of Tuesday, 28 October. Earlier on October 27, the devotees had offered evening Arghya to the setting sun.
According to the almanac, sunrise on October 28, 2025, will happen at around 6:30 am. In such a situation, the auspicious time of Usha Arghya will be from 6:28 to 6:45 in the morning. During this time, devotees offer water to the Sun God and pray for the happiness and prosperity of the family. Devotees wait for the first rays of the rising sun amidst the echo of traditional songs on the ghats.
With the offering of Arghya to the rising sun on Tuesday morning, the 36 hours of rigorous waterless fast of the devotees will be completed. This moment is considered very sacred. After offering Arghya to the Sun God, the devotees end their fast by taking Prasad. During this time, they wish for the good health and prosperity of their family, especially their children.
On the fourth and last day of Chhath Puja, devotees leave for the ghats at 3 or 4 in the morning. Women carry fruits, sugarcane, coconut, thekua, and other puja materials in baskets on their heads. As soon as the first ray of the sun appears, all the devotees stand in the reservoirs, ponds, or rivers and offer Arghya to the Sun God.
Usha Arghya is considered to be the most important moment of Chhath Puja. It is an arghya dedicated to the first rays of the sun, which is a symbol of new beginnings and positive energy. At this time, devotees pray to the Sun God and Chhathi Maiya for the longevity and happiness of their children and the prosperity of their family.
