Hanuman Jayanti 2026: Know Significance, Auspicious Time and Puja Vidhi (X)
New Delhi: Hanuman Jayanti holds a special significance in Hinduism. On this day, which is being celebrated on Thursday, is believed that Lord Hanuman was born on the full moon day of Chaitra Purnima. He is considered an incarnation of Lord Shiva and a great devotee of Lord Rama.
Hanuman's father's name was Kesari and his mother's name was Anjani, hence he is also known as Anjani Putra. Hanuman Ji is considered a symbol of strength, wisdom, knowledge, courage, and devotion.
According to religious beliefs, worshipping and praying to Hanuman on the day of his birth anniversary removes fears, negativity, and obstacles from life. It is also said to alleviate suffering related to Saturn.
Reciting the Hanuman Chalisa and chanting the mantra "Om Hanumate Namah" on this day is considered highly auspicious.
Try to recite the Hanuman Chalisa at least once, and if possible, reciting it seven or eleven times is even more fruitful.
Worshiping Lord Hanuman in the morning on Hanuman Jayanti is considered very auspicious. There will be two auspicious times for worship today.
According to the Panchang, the first auspicious time will be from 6:10 am to 7:44 am. The second auspicious time for worship will be from 6:39 pm to 8:06 pm.
Apart from these, worshipping Lord Hanuman during the Abhijit Muhurta is also considered auspicious. This auspicious time will last from 12 noon to 12:50 pm on Thursday.
On Hanuman Jayanti, a combination of Dhruva Yoga and Hasta Nakshatra is forming. Dhruva Yoga will last from sunrise until 2:20 pm. After this, Vyaghata Yoga will begin. Hasta Nakshatra will also last until 5:38 pm. After this, Chitra Nakshatra will begin.
On Hanuman Jayanti, Lord Hanuman is worshipped with special rituals. Wake up in the Brahma Muhurta, take shower, wear clean clothes, and purify the place of worship. Afterward, light a lamp before an idol or picture of Hanuman and make a vow with devotion. During the puja, offering Hanuman a robe of vermilion and jasmine oil is considered auspicious. Offering red flowers, jaggery, gram flour laddus, and bananas is also considered auspicious.
After this, recite Hanuman Chalisa, Sunderkand, or Bajrang Baan and chant the mantra "Om Hanumate Namah." Finally, perform an aarti of Hanuman Ji and pray for peace, happiness, and the removal of obstacles.
