Solar Eclipse 2025: The second and final solar eclipse of this year will take place on 21 September, Sunday night. This will be a partial solar eclipse and will occur on the day of Ashwin Amavasya, which is also known as Sarva Pitra Amavasya. The total duration of the eclipse will be 4 hours 24 minutes. However, it will not appear in India, so the rules of the Sutak period will not apply here.
The eclipse will begin at 10:59 pm on 21 September. It will arrive at its peak on 22 September at 1:11 pm and the end will take place at 3:23 am.
At this time, the Amavasya Tithi of Ashwin month will be going on, which will remain till 1:23 pm on September 22. After this, the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha will start and Sharadiya Navratri will begin with sunrise.
The sutak period of a solar eclipse usually starts 12 hours in advance. According to this rule, the sutak should have been implemented on September 21 from 10:59 am. But since this eclipse will not appear directly in India, the Sutak period will not be effective here. People can do general activities and the doors of religious places will also be open.
This partial solar eclipse will appear in a few select parts of the world.
This view will not be seen in many countries of Asia, including India.
According to mythological beliefs, when Rahu and Ketu grass the Sun, solar eclipse occurs. It is considered an inauspicious time. During this time people do not do auspicious work and perform Bhajan-Kirtan of God.
In many places, even the doors of temples are closed during the period of eclipse. Bathing and donating after the eclipse are considered auspicious.
From a scientific point of view, a solar eclipse occurs when the moon comes between the Sun and the Earth. Due to this, sunlight does not reach the Earth and the Sun is partially or completely covered in parts of the earth.
Although this eclipse will not be visible in India, it will affect all 12 zodiac signs from an astrological point of view. This eclipse will bring auspicious signs for some zodiac signs, while some zodiac signs will need to be cautious.
Note: Since the view of the eclipse will not be seen in India, people do not need to worry about the Sutak and the religious rules related to it.
