New Electric Scooter Launched Under Rs 1 Lakh, Offers 200 Km Range (atherenergy)

New Delhi: Ather Energy has introduced a new option for electric scooter buyers. The company has launched Ather Konarc in the Indian market. Its starting ex-showroom price is Rs 99,999. The company has prepared this model keeping in mind the everyday use of the family. Konarc is built on the new EL platform and will have different battery and range options. The highest range model has a claimed IDC range of up to 200 kilometres.

How many variants of Ather Konarc are there?

The company has introduced Konarc in two series. These include Konarc S and Konarc Z. The S series will have options with IDC ranges of 100, 125, 161 and 200 km. The price of 100 km range model of Konarc S is Rs 99,999. The 125 km range variant is priced at Rs 1,21,999 and the 161 km range model is priced at Rs 1,44,999. The price of the 200 km range model has not been announced yet.

When will the price of Konarc Z be revealed?

Konarc Z is offered in range options of 125 and 161 km. The company will reveal the price of these two models later. That is, at present the lowest priced option is Konarc S, whose starting price has been kept at less than one lakh rupees.

When will customers receive the scooter?

Konarc deliveries will begin at different times. The company has informed that the delivery of Konarc S with 125 and 161 km range will start from September 2026. The model with 100 km range will arrive in the first quarter of 2027. At the same time, there is a plan to launch the variant with 200 km range in the market in the third quarter of 2027. Both Konarc Z models will also reach customers in 2027.

How is the design for daily use?

The design of Konarc is a little different from other sporty electric scooters. Keeping family use in mind, it has been given a long single-piece seat and flat floorboard. Metal has been used in the body. The scooter has a 14 inch front wheel. Its wheelbase is 1,352 mm. According to the company, this is the longest wheelbase in the Indian scooter market. Its benefits can be found especially in stability and riding space.

What is the range and speed?

Different models of Konarc S will come with IDC ranges ranging from 100 to 200 kilometers. The maximum speed of the S series is 70 kilometers per hour. On the other hand, Konarc Z has been introduced with higher speed. Its top speed is said to be up to 80 kilometers per hour. Battery capacity will also be different in different range models.

What do you get for charging?

The scooter has a 450W in-built charger. This means that the battery can also be charged from a normal electrical socket. The company has also kept the option of an additional charger. When used using it, the charging capacity can reach 900W. According to the company, some variants may take about two hours to charge from 0 to 80 percent.

How will the AirWalk feature be useful?

Ather has given a special feature called AirWalk in Konarc. This can be used when the scooter needs to be moved forward or backward between small spaces in the parking lot. This feature is assisted by the motor, which makes it easier to move the scooter by hand. Apart from this, features like key-less entry, auto lock and reverse assist are also available.

What is special in braking system?

Ather's AeBS i.e. Advanced Electrical Braking System has been installed in Konarc. According to the company, it uses regenerative braking and normal braking of the motor together. Reducing the possibility of rear wheel locking during hard braking is also part of this system. The scooter has been provided with disc brake at the front and drum brake at the rear.

Which scooters will Konarc compete with?

Ather has introduced Konarc in a segment where there are already many strong players. It will compete with electric scooters like TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 and Vida. The starting price of Rs 99,999 and wide range of options are among the biggest features of Konarc. Now it remains to be seen how much the family-centric design and wide range of options attract the customers.
