New Delhi: Hyundai's venture into the electric vehicle (EV) market has been met with remarkable success, particularly with the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which has garnered significant attention worldwide. The demand for this EV has been unprecedented, with a staggering 2.6 lakh units sold globally. Notably, 1,389 Indians have also joined the ranks of proud Hyundai Ioniq 5 owners, highlighting its popularity in the Indian market.

Hyundai has been steadily expanding its portfolio of electric vehicles, and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 stands out as one of its flagship models. Following closely behind is the United States, with 66,481 units sold. Other key markets include Germany, the UK, Canada, Norway, and Indonesia, among others, where the EV has been met with enthusiastic reception.

Pricing and availability in India

In India, Hyundai introduced the Ioniq 5 to cater to the burgeoning demand for electric vehicles. Launched in 2023 and showcased at the Indian Auto Expo, the locally assembled Ioniq 5 is available in a dual-wheel-drive variant. Priced competitively at Rs 46.05 lakh (before tax), this EV offers Indian consumers a compelling option in the electric SUV segment.
