India’s Car Export Race: This Automaker Outpaces Tata, Mahindra, Toyota in Global Sales (Pintrest)
New Delhi: There is a continuous increase in the export of cars from India. Data between April 2025 and February 2026 show that along with domestic companies, foreign auto companies are also using India as an export hub. During this period, Maruti Suzuki remained at the forefront, while Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota and Tata Motors also registered a good share.
Maruti Suzuki sent the maximum number of cars abroad during this period. The company had been ahead in this matter before and this time also it maintained its lead. Due to small and affordable models, Maruti vehicles are in demand in many countries.
After Maruti, Hyundai Motor India stood second. Apart from this, companies like Nissan and Toyota also registered a strong presence in exports. The vehicles of these companies were especially sent to the markets of Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
Tata Motors' performance has been better during this period. Although the company is not at the top in terms of total numbers, its pace of exports has become faster than before. This indicates that Indian brands are also now strengthening their identity abroad.
Auto sector experts believe that India has now become a strong center in terms of manufacturing. Due to low cost, better production and supply chains, companies are sending vehicles abroad on a large scale from here.
The highest demand for Indian cars is seen in areas like Africa, the Middle East and South America. These markets require affordable and reliable vehicles, into which Indian companies fit in.
Looking at the current trend, it is believed that car exports may increase further. With the advent of new technology and electric vehicles, companies are preparing to enter new markets.
Continuously increasing exports and investment are clearly indicating that India is gradually moving towards a global auto hub. In the coming time, this sector can make a bigger contribution to the country's economy.
