Auto News: When Tata Motors introduced Nexon in the country a few years ago, it earned a lot of name and fame on the basis of 5-star safety. This increased people's tension about safety in Maruti Suzuki India's cars. Later, other car companies including Mahindra, Skoda, MG also started bringing cars with safety rating. But now the country's largest car company Maruti Suzuki India has made a plan to show its real strength. Not just one or two but soon all the cars of the company will be number one in safety.

Maruti Suzuki India Chairman R.C. Bhargava has finally made the announcement that India and the world have been waiting for a long time. He says that by the end of this year, every Maruti car will come with 6 airbags as standard. According to Autocar, Bhargava says that the government is very conscious about 6 airbags in every car and we are going to do this work. We will also benefit from this.

These Maruti cars come with 6 airbags

Maruti Suzuki has recently started providing 6-airbags as standard in many of its cars. These include Maruti Eco, WagonR, Alto K10, Brezza and Celerio. Due to this, the price of these cars has also increased. From this year, 6-airbags have started being available as standard in all these cars. The rest of the cars which do not come with 6-airbags as standard include Baleno, Francox, Ignis, Ertiga, XL-6 and S-Presso.

6-airbags are available in the top variants of the Ford and Baleno, but now 6-airbags will be available in their entry level range as well. However, this will increase the price of these cars. Currently, the Ford starts at Rs 7.55 lakh and the Baleno at Rs 6.70 lakh. Not only this, with the introduction of 6-airbags, the price of Ertiga, XL-6 and S-Preso is also set to increase. When Maruti provided 6-airbags in Celerio, its price increased by Rs 32,500.

The tension of safety will end

The biggest concern of people about Maruti cars right now is safety. Maruti says that it has now increased its focus on safety. Earlier, whenever the government talked about 6-airbags, Maruti used to cite the increase in cost. But last year the company launched its first 5-star safety rating car Maruti Dzire in India.

Entry-Level Cars Face Threat from Rising Safety Costs

Maruti's chairman R.C. Bhargava says that the sales of entry level cars have been falling in the last few years. If their cost increases further, their sales will fall further. Maruti Suzuki's sales data also proves his point. Last year, Maruti's small car sales have fallen by 9 percent. It is possible that Maruti has started focusing on safety in these cost effective cars.
