Buxar: A bride was shot during a wedding ceremony in Bihar's Buxar district. Her lover shot her in filmy style before the garland ceremony. The bride collapsed on the stage. She was reportedly admitted to a nearby hospital in critical condition for treatment and later transferred to Varanasi. The incident caused widespread panic.
A video of the incident has surfaced, clearly showing the lover mingling with the crowd during the garland ceremony and firing a shot as soon as he saw the opportunity. The bride fell to her death on the stage. According to reports, the incident occurred in the Chausa Nagar Panchayat area of the Mufussil police station. A wedding ceremony was reportedly underway on Tuesday night. The bride arrived on stage for the garland ceremony. People were waiting for the ceremony to begin.
Meanwhile, a young man approached the stage, pulled a pistol from under his shirt, and fired at the bride. The shooter is said to be the alleged lover. The bride fell bleeding on the stage as soon as she was shot. The wedding party and villagers ran for their lives. After committing the crime, the accused youth fled the scene. The wedding procession had come from Ballia district.
It is said that the wedding procession had come from Sulemanpur village in Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, to Mallah Tola of Chausa Panchayat in Buxar district. Aarti Kumari, daughter of Nandji Mallah, was getting married there. The wedding rituals were being performed with full ceremonial rites. As the bride reached the stage for the jaimala ceremony, a young man named Deenbandhu, who lived in the neighborhood, suddenly climbed onto the stage. Before anyone could react, he fired a shot at the bride. The bullet struck Aarti in the stomach, causing her to collapse.
Girls screamed, "Aarti has been shot!" The girls on the stage with the bride began screaming loudly, "Aarti has been shot... Aarti has been shot." Before people could apprehend the accused, he fled while firing. The injured Aarti was taken to Buxar Sadar Hospital, from where she was referred to Varanasi. Aarti died on the way to Varanasi.
Villagers say that Deenbandhu had been in love with Aarti for two years. The house of the accused Deenbandhu (father Ramashankar Chaudhary) is near Aarti's house.
After the incident, police arrived at the scene and began an investigation. Station House Officer Chandan Kumar stated that at first glance, the case appears to be a love affair. Police are investigating from all angles. The accused will be arrested soon. Police are conducting raids to this effect.
