Bihar: Married Woman Dragged, Groped In Public Rape Attempt While Crowd Film Video

Nalanda: A shocking incident has emerged from Bihar, where a woman was sexually harassed by a mob on March 26 in Ajaypur village of Nalanda district, over suspicion that she was having extramarital affair. Police have so far arrested two accused in this connection.

When did the incident happen?

The disturbing incident happened on March 26 between 6 pm and 7 pm in Nalanda district which is under the Noorsarai police station limits.

The incident took place when a woman, who is around 20-year-old, was returning home from the market when she was spotted with a man, who is a mobile repair technician, and suspected of having an affair.
 
Then several people from her village harassed and dragged her in the street.

What is there in the video?

In a video, a woman can be seen being sexually harassed by a group of people on a street over suspicion that she was having an extramarital affair. 

In the viral clips, the men can be seen groping and dragging the woman. 

When did the woman say?

The young woman alleged that three men attempted to rape her in public and filmed the act.

The woman, who lives with her mother-in-law and is a mother of three, while recounting the horror, said that she had gone to the market to recharge her mobile when some people from her village spotted her with the mobile repair technician and then suspected that they were having an affair.

The victim said that some people from the village came and locked the door from outside. People then began gathering, and some young men in the crowd misbehaved.

The woman, who's husband works as a daily-wage labourer in Pune, said that she somehow managed to escape through a window and reported the incident to police.

In the video, the woman can be seen  manhandled and dragged through the street.

In the clip, bystanders can be seen filming the video instead of helping the young woman, which is more distressing.

Has the police arrested the accused?

The police so far has arrested two accused and other accused are being identified based on the viral video.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sanjay Jaiswal arrived at the scene, inquired about the incident from the victim, and has intensified the investigation. 

"We are currently investigating this case. So far, we have arrested two individuals in connection with this matter, and the third named accused will be arrested very soon," said DSP Jaiswal.
