Panic In Patna After Bihar Assembly Receives Bomb Threat, Security Boosted

Patna: Security agencies have been thrown into a state of alarm following a threat to blow up the Bihar Legislative Assembly. According to reports, a suspicious message claims that a major explosion—utilizing cyanide gas and explosives such as RDX—is scheduled to take place within the Assembly premises around 2:15 PM. Upon the emergence of this threat, the police and security agencies immediately shifted into high-alert mode.

What was the message?

According to sources, the threatening message contains religious references and mentions incidents linked to various states—such as Chennai—prompting authorities to treat the matter with even greater gravity. The threat was issued while citing certain international events and other contentious issues. However, the authenticity of the message has not yet been officially confirmed.

It is worth noting that prior to this incident, on March 13, the Assembly Secretariat had also received an email threatening to bomb the Assembly building. Given the gravity of that matter, Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar had taken immediate cognizance of the situation and convened an emergency meeting with senior officials of the Secretariat.

How did the police react?

Following the receipt of the threat, security at the Bihar Legislative Assembly in Patna has been significantly tightened. Teams from the Bomb Disposal Squad and the Dog Squad have been deployed to the site, and an intensive search operation is currently underway. The security cordon surrounding the Assembly complex has been expanded, and a strict watch is being kept on every individual entering or exiting the premises.

Police officials state that efforts are being made—with the assistance of the Cyber ​​Cell—to identify the individual behind the threat. Additionally, an investigation is being conducted to determine the medium through which the message was transmitted and to identify any potential accomplices involved.
