Patna: In Bihar politics, Janashakti Janata Dal (JJD) chief Tej Pratap Yadav has made serious allegations regarding threats, blackmailing and allegedly demanding money. Tej Pratap has claimed that calls are being made continuously to him and many people associated with his party from a mobile number. He said that the caller claimed to be associated with a media organisation and tried to demand money by threatening to make the video viral. In this matter he has demanded immediate investigation and action from the government and administration.
Tej Pratap Yadav had given information about this matter by sharing a post on social media on September 2. According to him, at around 3:11 pm he received a call from mobile number 7520322647. They allege that the caller claimed to be associated with a media house and threatened to kill them. Also, they were allegedly blackmailed with the promise of making a video viral and money was demanded.
Tej Pratap says that the matter is not limited to his safety only. He claimed that similar calls are being made to many officials and workers associated with Janashakti Janata Dal. According to him, complaints have come to light of harassing, intimidating male and female party workers and threatening to make the video viral.
According to Tej Pratap's allegation, the caller allegedly threatens to make a video public and demands money in return. He has called it not just a case of threat but an attempt at blackmailing and illegal extortion. However, these allegations have not yet been independently confirmed and the identity of the person behind the number will become clear only after investigation.
Tej Pratap asked the government and administration as to who is behind this mobile number and whose protection he has. He said that if effective action is not taken despite complaints, then many questions arise. He also demanded that the matter should be investigated impartially and if the role of any influential person comes to light, he should also be brought under the ambit of investigation.
The JJD chief has demanded the investigating agencies get the call records, messages and other digital evidence related to the mobile number examined. He says that through investigation the person using the number should be identified and if the allegations are found true then legal action should be taken against him.
Tej Pratap has clearly said that he is not afraid of such threats. He assured the party workers that if any attempt is made to intimidate or put pressure on any male or female worker, he will stand by them. He said that the safety and honour of people associated with the party will not be compromised.
At present, the most important question in the whole matter is about the actual user of the mobile number and the reason behind the threat. Only after investigation of the allegations made by Tej Pratap will it be clear who was the caller and whether there was actually any organised effort behind blackmailing and demanding money.
