Gold-Silver Prices : Gold, Silver Slip Slightly Today; Check Latest Rates in Your City (unsplash)
New Delhi: A slight decline was seen in the prices of gold and silver in the domestic futures market on Friday, March 13. Gold was seen trading under slight pressure on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), while slight weakness was also recorded in silver prices. The effect of fluctuations in the international market and caution of investors is also visible in the domestic market.
On MCX, gold future with expiry on April 2, 2026 was seen trading with a fall of around Rs 172. Gold futures opened at Rs 1,60,251 per 10 grams, while it had closed at Rs 1,60,271 in the previous trading session. Around 10 am, gold was trading 0.11 per cent lower at Rs 1,60,099 per 10 grams. During early trading, gold also reached a high level of Rs 1,60,401.
Like gold, a slight decline was also seen in silver. On MCX, silver future with expiry on May 5, 2026 was trading at Rs 2,67,397 per kg, down by about 0.21 percent. Silver started the day at Rs 2,66,001 per kg and during trading its highest level was recorded at Rs 2,69,186 per kg.
The price of 10 grams of silver in Delhi and Kolkata is around Rs 2,800. At the same time, customers have to spend around Rs 28,000 to buy 100 grams of silver. The price of 10 grams of silver in Chennai is around Rs 2,900, while in Mumbai, 10 grams of silver are being sold for around Rs 2,799.
Today, the price of 24 carat gold in Delhi has been recorded at around Rs 1,61,390 per 10 grams. Whereas 22 carat gold is being sold at around Rs 1,47,930 and 18 carat gold is being sold at around Rs 1,21,080 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, 24 carat gold is around Rs 1,61,240, 22 carat gold is around Rs 1,47,800 and 18 carat gold is around Rs 1,20,930 per 10 grams.
The price of 24 carat gold in Chennai is around Rs 1,62,560 per 10 grams, while 22 carat gold is available at around Rs 1,49,000. In Kolkata, 24 carat gold is around Rs 1,61,240 and 22 carat gold is around Rs 1,47,800 per 10 grams. Gold prices in Ahmedabad and Patna also remain at almost the same level. Whereas in Lucknow, 24 carat gold is trading at around Rs 1,61,390 per 10 grams.
According to experts, fluctuations in the prices of gold and silver occur due to many reasons. Situations like movements in the international market, strength of the dollar, changes in interest rates and geopolitical tensions affect their prices. Apart from this, domestic demand and wedding season also affect gold prices.
