Gold Prices Fall On Karwa Chauth, Silver Becomes Cheaper By Rs 2138

New Delhi: On the day of Karwa Chauth, the price of gold has fallen to Rs 143352 per 10 grams and the price of silver has fallen by Rs 2138 to Rs 192267 per kg. These rates are around 1.30 pm on Multi Commodity Exchange i.e. MCX. Today gold has become cheaper by only Rs 248 as compared to silver. 

According to MCX data, on January 29, gold was at a record high of Rs 1,93,096 and from then till today's date it has become cheaper by Rs 49744. At the same time, the all-time high of MCX silver is Rs 4,20,048 and it has become cheaper by Rs 227781.

What is the price in the international market?

International spot gold fell 0.5% to $4,039.39 an ounce. Meanwhile, US gold futures for December delivery fell 0.6% to $4,051.60 an ounce.

US Fed decision impacts gold

The US Federal Reserve has maintained interest rates within a range of 3.75% to 4%. This decision was in line with market expectations. Rising interest rates typically put pressure on gold prices, as holding gold does not yield interest. Interest-yielding investment options may be attractive in comparison. However, gold prices are also influenced by dollar movements, inflation, global tensions, and investor demand.
