New Delhi: There has been a change in LPG prices in the beginning of September. Oil marketing companies have increased the prices of 19 kg commercial gas cylinders. Its price has increased by up to Rs 9.50 in different cities. On the other hand, there has been no change in the price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder used in homes. The prices of 5 kg normal Chhotu and XTRALITE cylinders also remain the same as before.

How much will a commercial cylinder cost in Delhi now?

The price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has increased from Rs 2,738 to Rs 2,747.50. That means consumers here will now have to pay Rs 9.50 more. This new rate is applicable from September 1.

What is the new rate in Noida and Mumbai?

In Noida also, the price of 19 kg cylinder has increased to Rs 2,747.50. Earlier it was available for Rs 2,738. Commercial cylinder in Mumbai now costs Rs 2,701. Here till August 31, its price was Rs 2,691.50.

How much did the prices change in Kolkata and Chennai?

The price of 19 kg commercial cylinder in Kolkata has increased from Rs 2,872.50 to Rs 2,982. This cylinder will now be available in Chennai for Rs 2,916.50. Earlier its price in Chennai was Rs 2,906.

Why did the prices of domestic gas cylinders remain the same?

At present there is relief for consumers using domestic LPG. There has been no increase in the price of 14.2 kg cylinder. Its rate in Delhi is Rs 942, in Mumbai Rs 941.50, in Kolkata Rs 968 and in Chennai Rs 957.50.

There has been a slight increase in the price of 5 kg non-domestic cylinder. Its price has increased from Rs 762 to Rs 764. This means that now you will have to pay Rs 2 more for this cylinder.

According to the available rates, both domestic and commercial cylinders are relatively cheap in Mumbai. Due to high transportation cost in Leh, the price of LPG is quite high. Here, 14.2 kg domestic cylinder is available for Rs 1,179 and 19 kg commercial cylinder is available for Rs 3,385.50.

Who will be affected by the increase in cost of commercial cylinders?

Commercial LPG is used extensively in hotels, restaurants, dhabas and other commercial establishments. Due to increase in price, fuel expenses of these businesses may increase. However, since the price of domestic cylinder remains stable, consumers using LPG for cooking at home will not have to face the direct impact of this increase in September.
