New Delhi: There is big relief news for EPFO account holders. The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is preparing to launch such a facility soon, after which PF money can be withdrawn through ATMs and UPI. Work on this new system is going on under EPFO 3.0. It is believed that with this, crores of employees will not have to wait long to withdraw PF, and the process will become much easier than before.
EPFO is working towards making its system completely digital and fast. Under this scheme, the facility of PF withdrawal through ATM and UPI is being added. After the implementation of the new system, account holders will be able to withdraw money directly through the mobile app, UPI platform, or ATM.
According to reports, this feature can be implemented in a phased manner. In some reports, the possibility of its starting from April or May 2026 has been expressed, although the final date has not been officially announced by EPFO yet.
After the implementation of the new system, EPFO members will be able to withdraw PF from ATMs through their UAN and account linked to the bank. For this, EPFO is working on a special card or banking integration model. It is being told that the withdrawal process will be as easy as withdrawing money from a bank account.
Under EPFO 3.0, members will be able to link their UPI ID to their EPF account. After this, if needed, money can be transferred directly through UPI. This can significantly reduce the time taken for claim settlement.
According to reports, under the new system, account holders will be allowed to withdraw only a part of the total PF balance immediately. It has been said in many reports that a withdrawal facility can be available up to 75 percent of the amount, while 25 percent of the amount will remain in the account for retirement security.
EPFO is also strengthening the auto-settlement system. According to reports, small and fixed-limit claims can be processed within a few hours or even 24 hours. With this, employees can get immediate relief in medical emergencies or urgent needs.
Experts believe that if this system is completely implemented, then the process of PF withdrawal will become as fast and easy as the banking system. This will increase both transparency and convenience in EPFO services. This is being considered a big change under the Digital India campaign.
