New Delhi: The month of August is about to end and with the beginning of September, many rules related to the everyday life of common people are going to change. Changes related to banking, gas cylinder, tax, credit card and foreign travel can directly affect your pocket. Some changes may provide relief, while in some cases people may have to pay more than before.

What will change for those travelling abroad?

From September 1, passengers going abroad from India will not have to get their boarding passes stamped at the immigration counter. Passengers will now be able to complete the immigration process by showing the electronic boarding pass or its printed copy on their mobile.

No stamp will be put on the boarding pass by the authorities. Passengers will only have to fill one additional form. Problems like the stamp not appearing clearly will also be eliminated. This rule will be applicable to international travellers going out of India.

When is the last date for filing ITR?

If you are employed or associated with any profession, then it is important to keep in mind the last date for filing ITR. Those whose accounts are not required to be audited for assessment year 2026-27, have to file returns by 31 August 2026.

ITR-4 i.e. Sugam form is for those who file returns under the presumptive tax scheme and their business income is up to Rs 50 lakh. At the same time, ITR-3 is for those people to whom ITR-4 is not applicable, like those with income more than Rs 50 lakh.

How will the interest rules on large FD change?

Some rules related to bank FD are also going to change. Under the new rules, banks will disclose the interest rates on large deposits of Rs 3 crore or more on their website by 10:10 am every business day.

Different branches of the bank will not be able to offer different interest rates on the same amount deposited on the same day. However, these changes are not likely to have much impact on small FDs. The purpose of the new rules is to increase transparency in interest rates and make the banking system more transparent. These changes are said to be implemented from October 1, 2026.

When will e-KYC of LPG gas cylinders have to be done?

To continue the LPG subsidy on LPG cylinder, it is necessary to get e-KYC done. For those who had not completed this process by August 23, the last date has been extended to August 31.

This means that people who do not get e-KYC done from September 1 cannot get cylinders at domestic rates. E-KYC will either be done through Aadhaar biometric confirmation or the process will have to be completed by visiting the gas agency.

Indian Oil, HPCL and BPCL have appealed to the people to complete e-KYC as soon as possible. The remaining people will also be informed about the new date through message.

Prices of what other things can change in September?

There is a possibility of change in the prices of LPG gas cylinders at the beginning of every month. Apart from this, there may also be a change in the interest rates of bank FD, which will affect the savings and returns of the people.

Also, changes in the prices of ATF i.e. aviation fuel are possible. If ATF becomes expensive or cheap, it can also affect air travel fares. Apart from this, there is also hope of change in ATM charges.

Overall, the beginning of September is bringing many new rules for the common people. In such a situation, it is important to complete the important tasks related to banking, tax, gas and travel on time so that you do not have to face extra charges or any problem later.
