The G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting will be held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, the week after next, and World Bank President Ajay Banga will go there to attend.

The information indicated that Banga will be visiting India for the first time since taking office as president of the World Bank last month. In particular, Gujarat will host four G20 gatherings in the first two weeks of July.

It is envisaged that these meetings will give corporate representatives a chance to discuss their opinions and policy suggestions on a range of economic and business-related themes. They will also play a vital role in influencing the agendas and policies of the global economy.

When did Ajay Banga took over as World Bank President?

In February, President Joe Biden announced that the US would nominate Banga to lead the World Bank.  And in May, the Executive Directors of the World Bank selected Ajay Banga as President of the World Bank for a five-year term beginning June 2, 2023

Gujarat to host B20 and G20 meet

According to official statement, several G20 meetings, including the B20 (Business 20), the G20 Working Group meeting, and ministerial meetings will happen in Gujarat in July.

The third Trade and Investment Working Group Meeting will take place in Kevadia from July 10 to 12, while the B20 meeting will take place in Surat on July 1.

The B20 meeting will take place in Surat on July 1 and will be attended by about 200 delegates from G20 nations who represent a range of industry sectors, including textiles, finance, banking, and diamonds.

Apart from this, 120 international delegates from several G20 nations are expected to attend the third Trade and Investment Working Group Meeting which is scheduled to be held at Kevadia from July 10-12.
