The scandal unraveled when a 47-year-old housemaid, employed at Prajwal Revanna's residence, bravely came forward with accusations of sexual harassment. She not only accused Prajwal but also his father, MLA HD Revanna, of misconduct, shedding light on a disturbing pattern of abuse and misuse of power. Devaraje Gowda penned a letter to the party president, highlighting the serious allegations against several members of the HD Deve Gowda family, including Prajwal Revanna, amidst the alliance between JDS and BJP in Karnataka. This letter, dated December 8, 2023, was addressed to the state president BY Vijayendra, expressing concerns about the accusations and their impact on the alliance.

Moreover, Devaraj Gowda disclosed the discovery of a pen drive containing 2,976 objectionable and obscene videos, involving government officials, which were allegedly used for blackmail and sexual harassment. He claimed that another pen drive with similar content had been shared with national leaders of the Congress party.
