Dimple Yadav was born in 1978 in Pune, in the home of Army Colonel SC Raut. She completed her early education in Pune. Originally, Dimple hails from Udham Singh Nagar in Uttarakhand. She also has two sisters. After completing her intermediate education, Dimple graduated from Lucknow University. It was during this time that she met Akhilesh Yadav through a common friend. Love blossomed between Dimple and Akhilesh during their first meeting. During this period, Akhilesh Yadav went to Australia for his studies. However, after completing his studies, he returned to India. And he married Dimple on November 24, 1999. Dimple and Akhilesh have three children: Aditi, Tina, and Arjun. Dimple Yadav leads a very simple life. People admire her simplicity a lot. It is rare to see Dimple in makeup. She prefers wearing cotton sarees.

When did she start her political career?

44-year-old Dimple Yadav contested her first election in 2009 when Akhilesh Yadav vacated the Firozabad seat. In this by-election, Dimple Yadav had to face defeat at the hands of famous actor and politician Raj Babbar. Then in 2012, there was a by-election on the Kannauj Lok Sabha seat, in which Dimple Yadav was elected unopposed. Then, in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Dimple Yadav contested from Kannauj again and won, but in 2019, she had to face defeat. BJP's Subrat Pathak defeated Dimple Yadav by 10 thousand votes. Now Dimple is contesting the elections from Mainpuri against Akhilesh Yadav. The SP has been winning this seat since 1996.
