During the Lok Sabha elections, the Samajwadi Party announced its candidate for the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat. Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadavs wife and former MP Dimple Yadav will contest the elections. Now Dimple is contesting the elections from Mainpuri against Akhilesh Yadav. The SP has been winning this seat since 1996.
