'Ya Ali' Singer Zubeen Garg's Last Wish: The sudden demise of 'Ya Ali' singer Zubeen Garg has left his fans in Assam in deep shock. And now after his death of the singer, one of his old interview has surfaced online in which he spoke about how last wish. He also talked about his final moments, his funeral as well.
Zubeen in his old interview, expressed his deep affection for his homeland. He said, "It's a wonderful place. One of the best places. I'll live there and die there. They should burn me there. Or drown me in the Brahmaputra. I'm a soldier. I'm like Rambo."
He expressed his final wish, stating that he wanted his body to be cremated on the banks of the river Brahmaputra or that his last remains be immersed in the river. He also spoke about his life and legacy, saying, "I'm crazy. I want to give everything I have to people, not to myself. I'm happy here. I have my own studio, this is my home."
Zubeen is known for bringing Assamese music to national recognition. He rose to fame in Bollywood with his song "Ya Ali" in the film "Gangster" (2006). He was called as the "king of humming." Zubeen, died in a tragic scuba diving accident in Singapore on Friday.
In a post on X, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "More and more people want to see our beloved Zubeen for the last time, and we deeply understand their sentiments. Therefore, the Bhogeshwar Barua Stadium will remain open throughout the night tonight for the public to pay their respects to Zubeen. Tomorrow too, Zubeen's body will be kept at Sarusajai for public viewing."
