Amid Divorce Rumours With Wife, Thalapathy Vijay Walks Hand-in-Hand With Trisha Krishnan At Wedding Reception

Mumbai: Are Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) Vijay Thalapathy and actress Trisha Krishnan official announcing their relationship? Recently both the actors were spotted together at a wedding reception in Chennai. In the viral video, the duo can be seen arriving together at the venue.

Once again actor-turned politician is in news but this time for his personal issues. Recently his wife Sangeetha Sornalingam had filed a petition for divorce, seeking to end their 27 years of marriage due to infidelity.

Even though no names has been revealed yet. But ever since the news emerged, social media has started linking Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay with actress Trisha Krishnan. 

Where were the actors spotted?

Vijay and Trisha on Thursday attended the wedding reception of AGS producer Kalpathi Suresh's son in Chennai. 

In the viral video, Thalapathy Vijay and Trisha Krishnan were seen getting out of the car and heading to the venue.

They arrival at the reception together, is what shocked the people and made  waves about them confirming rumours of a relationship.

Just like any other couple, the duo opted for a colour coordinated outfit. Vijay wore a off white shirt with dhoti, while Trisha chose a off white saree with red sleeveless blouse and completed her look with heavy green neck piece.  

Did Vijay's bodyguard also post related to him?

Just few hours before the duo's appearance together, Vijay's bodyguard Aroon Suresh shared an Instagram story with the quote,"Time to rise above all the rumours (fire emoji)."

Although later he deleted the post. But he did not delete another post in which he shared a picture of Vijay making the heart sign, with no caption. But the post was shared with Vijay and Trisha’s song Kokkarakko from their 2004 film 'Ghilli'. 

What are the allegations?

Actor Vijay's wife, Sangeeta, has filed a divorce petition in the Chengalpattu Family Court after nearly 27 years of marriage. In her petition, Sangeeta alleges that Vijay had an extramarital affair with an actress. When she learned of the affair in April 2021, Vijay assured her that he would end it. However, the relationship continued, causing her severe mental distress.

How are relations between Sangeetha and Thalapathy Vijay?

Sangeetha and Thalapathy Vijay have been living separately for the past two years. Sangeeta belongs to a Sri Lankan Tamil family and was raised in the United Kingdom. Vijay has recently stepped away from films and begun taking an active role in politics. His party, the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam, is seen as a rising political force in Tamil Nadu.

For how many years were they married?

Vijay and Sangeeta were married on August 25, 1999. Vijay is a Christian and Sangeeta is a Hindu. The couple married according to Hindu customs, followed by a grand reception in Chennai. Following their marriage, Vijay and Sangeeta welcomed their first child, Jason Sanjay, in 2000, and their daughter, Divya Sasha, in 2005. After 27 years of marriage, Sangeeta has now filed for divorce.
