Asha Bhosle Cause of Death: What Happened in Her Final Hours at Mumbai Hospital?

Mumbai: Renowned playback singer Asha Bhosle passed away on Sunday. She breathed her last at the age of 92 at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. The singer's funeral will take place on Monday at 4 pm at Shivaji Park.

What is the reason of death?

Asha Bhosle died of multi-organ failure, the family and hospital management said.

Dr. Pratit Samdani of Breach Candy Hospital said that due to multi-organ failure Asha Bhosle passed away.

Dr. Samdani said that Asha Bhosle was immediately brought to the hospital after she suffered a cardiac arrest. She was treated in the hospital's Emergency Medical Services Unit, but could not be saved due to multiple organ failure.

Who informed about Asha Bhosle's death?

On Sunday, Asha Bhosle's son Anand Bhosle confirmed the news of her death and said, "She is no more. My mother passed away today. People can pay their last respects to her at 11 am tomorrow at Casa Grande, Lower Parel, where she lived. Her last rites will be performed at 4 pm tomorrow at Shivaji Park."

When will the funeral take place?

The singer's body will be kept for public viewing at her home in Lower Parel at 11 am on Monday.

The last rites of Asha Bhosle will be performed on Monday at Shivaji Park in Dadar at 4 pm, the same place where her sister Lata Mangeshkar was also cremated. 

Maharashtra Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar said that Asha Bhosle's body will be kept at her home from 11 am to 3 pm on Monday, and the funeral will take place at 4 pm at Shivaji Park.

Why was Asha Bhosle admitted?

Asha Bhosle was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday after her health suddenly deteriorated. Asha Tai, who has been spreading the magic of her voice for six decades, was under the supervision of doctors.

On Saturday, Zanai Bhosle, who is the granddaughter of Asha Bhosle, informed that legendary singer had been hospitalized due to extreme exhaustion and chest infection. 

Taking to Instagram, Zanai shared a photo with her grandmother and wrote, "My grandmother, Asha Bhosle due to extreme exhaustion and suffering  a chest infection has been admitted to hospital and we request you to value our privacy. Treatment is ongoing and hopefully everything will be well and we shall update you positively."
