Bigg Boss 17 winner, Munawar Faruqui, detained in Mumbai hookah bar raid; released later

Reality TV star Munawar Faruqui, winner of Bigg Boss 17, has recently encountered legal trouble following a police raid at a hookah parlour in Mumbai. The raid, which took place in Mumbai's Fort area, led to the detention of Munawar Faruqui along with 13 others, as confirmed by Mumbai police authorities on Wednesday.

According to reports, the hookah parlour was found to be operating unlawfully during the raid conducted on Tuesday. Authorities seized cash amounting to Rs 4,400 along with nine hookah pots valued at Rs 13,500 during the operation.

A statement from a Mumbai police official mentioned, "Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui and 13 others were detained, and a case has been registered against them in a hookah bar raid in the Fort area last night. All accused were released after questioning: Mumbai Police."

This isn't Munawar Faruqui's first encounter with legal issues. In 2021, he spent over a month in Indore central jail following allegations of hurting religious sentiments during a comedy show. Despite his arrest, Munawar was granted bail shortly after his detention.
