Coimbatore: Actor Dhanush received a rousing welcome from fans during his visit to Coimbatore for the promotion of his upcoming film, 'Kara'. Thousands of fans thronged the airport and the event venue to see him. But one particular moment has gone viral, sparking a massive debate on social media.
Dhanush arrived in Coimbatore for the promotions of his film 'Kara'. The Telugu pre-release event drew a large crowd, with people lining up from the airport to the venue. A female fan approached Dhanush. Seeing her, Dhanush folded his hands. She became emotional and began talking to him. Suddenly, the woman knelt down in front of Dhanush and tried to touch his feet. Dhanush immediately stopped her and asked the fan to stand up and then posed for a photo with her.
This small gesture by Dhanush shows that he appreciates his fan following but also understands the limits of respect.
While many users praised Dhanush's gesture, some questioned, "Why celebrity worship?" One user wrote, "Why should actors be worshipped like gods, no matter how popular they are?" Another commented, "Why do people start worshipping actors?" While a third asked, "Why do actors need to be considered gods?"
'Kara' is an action thriller film directed by Vignesh Raja and produced by Vels Film International. It stars Dhanush alongside Mamitha Baiju, Jayaram, and Suraj Venjaramoodu.
The film’s music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar, with cinematography by Theni Eswar and editing by Srijith Sarang. 'Kara' is scheduled for a worldwide release on April 30.
