Emotional Arjun Bijlani Breaks Down At Father-in-law's Funeral

Mumbai: A sad piece of news has emerged from the television industry on the occasion of the New Year. Popular television actor Arjun Bijlani's father-in-law, Rakesh Chandra Swami, has passed away at the age of 73. 

The Bijlani family and their close friends are reported to be deeply saddened by this loss. Rakesh Chandra Swami was the father of Arjun's wife, Neha Swami. He had been ill for a long time and breathed his last on Wednesday. Arjun is currently with his in-laws’ family, trying to support his wife through this difficult time.

Rakesh Chandra Swami is survived by his daughter, Neha Swami and his son, Nishank Swami.

How did the tragedy unfold?

"He was perfectly fine, about to have dinner when he suddenly suffered a stroke and was immediately rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was put on a ventilator. The entire family is in shock, as Neha and Arjun had met the family before flying out. It was a sudden blow, and we are all still trying to come to terms with this situation," a family member of Arjun and Neha told the media.

Arjun was reportedly very close to his father-in-law, as his own father had passed away a long time ago. When this tragic incident occurred, Arjun and Neha were in Dubai for their New Year's vacation, but according to reports, they had to cut their trip short and immediately return to Mumbai on Tuesday to be with their family during this difficult time.

What happened at the funeral?

In a video on social media platform Instagram, Arjun was seen hugging his brother-in-law at the funeral of Rakesh. He held him tight and consoled him, while getting emotional. Arjun also turned pallbearer and carried Rakesh's body on his shoulders.

What next in Arjun’s career?

On the work front, Arjun Bijlani was recently seen in the reality show Rise and Fall, hosted by Ashneer Grover, which he won by defeating social media influencer Aarush Bhola and reality TV star Arbaaz Patel. The actor won the trophy along with a prize money of Rs 28 lakh. He has recently started shooting for Laughter Chefs Season 3.
