Mumbai: Bobby Deol has been making headlines lately due to his new film, 'Bandar'. This marks his first-ever collaboration with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. The film has already garnered acclaim at various film festivals across the globe. Now, after a long wait, it is set to be released in Indian theaters—an event for which audiences are highly excited.

Why as the film attracted controversy?

Bobby's film, 'Bandar', is quite dark in tone. In it, his character ends up in jail as a result of using a dating app. The trailer reveals that Bobby's character, Samir, meets a young woman. He chats with her, but subsequently, the police arrest and take him into custody. Samir maintains that the case against him is fabricated. The young woman involved also adds an element of suspense to the narrative. 'Bandar' has led many to believe that the film might portray women in a negative light.

What is the Plot of 'Bandar'?

Anurag Kashyap's film 'Bandar' has sparked numerous questions. Now, the film's producer, Nikhil Dwivedi himself, has shed light on the plot of Bobby's film during a conversation with the media. He categorically stated that the film was not created to be anti-women; rather, it centers on an individual seeking and obtaining justice.

Nikhil remarked: "Our film is not against women. We, too, are observing what is currently unfolding with Twisha Sharma. It is a deeply unfortunate situation, and it warrants a thorough investigation. If a crime has indeed been committed, those involved must be held accountable and punished. This is not an anti-women film; it is a pro-justice film."

"We must understand that no one is suggesting that if a wrong has been committed against a woman, she should not be believed. However, it is equally essential to have faith in the justice system. We prioritize justice over any specific gender. This is the greatest hallmark of our Constitution and our laws; it constitutes the very bedrock of our democracy. Justice must prevail."

Bobby Deol's film 'Bandar' is scheduled for theatrical release on June 5. It features renowned actors such as Saba Azad, Sanya Malhotra, Riddhi Sen, Jitendra Joshi, and Sapna Pabbi.
