Mumbai: 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge', which is directed by Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh' starrer is again in news for its collection. The film has set a new record by earning over Rs 1000 crore in a single week. Now the residents of Lyari, a Karachi area in Pakistan, are now demanding a share of the film's earnings, not a small one, but a whopping 50 per cent.
The film has grossed a staggering Rs 1088 crore worldwide in just one week. Following the film's impressive earnings, a video has surfaced from Pakistan showing locals in Lyari demanding money from the film's director.
Residents of Pakistan's Lyari region have demanded a share of the box office earnings of the film 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge'. Some have even demanded that 50 per cent of the film's earnings be donated to local development projects. Locals say the city that inspired the film should receive millions of rupees in return.
In the viral video, a resident of Lyari said that, "The guy who made the film on Lyari has made a lot of money. It's a very VIP film and it's made a lot of money. Lyari should prosper, and the people here should become prosperous."
Another local said, "If you're getting Rs 1,000 crore, give Rs 500 crore to the people of Lyari. Give half the money so that this road can be built."
The spy-action thriller, led by Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun, drew large crowds in the theatres.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the franchise reveals the origin of Hamza Ali Mazari, aka Jaskirat Singh Rangi, which is played by Ranveer Singh, and also shows the backstory, while explaining the motivation. The film will explain the reason how Jaskirat turned into Hamza and will also reveal who is bade sahab.
