Mumbai: Film composer and director Palash Muchhal, who was once again in the news after a series of new allegations by actor-producer Vidnyan Mane, accusing him of cheating Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana, in now again in the spotlight for deleting all the Instagram posts that featured Mandhana.

All the Instagram posts that showed Muchhal and Mandhana together, including personal moments from celebrations and public events, were visible till Saturday.

The news of cheating allegation and fraud came just weeks after his wedding was called off with cricketer Smriti Mandhana.

What Just Happened?

Muchhal has quietly removed multiple social media posts that showed him with Mandhana, including photos from birthday celebrations, Diwali party and various public and private events.

This happened soon after renewed allegations surfaced against him.

Who Is Accusing Him and Why?

Actor-producer Vidnyan Mane and a close friend of Smriti Mandhana has accused Muchhal of several serious claims, including that he was cheated out of Rs 40 lakh for an unreleased film called 'Nazariya'.

According to Mane, Muchhal met him in Sangli on December 5, 2023 and reportedly pitched a film project titled 'Nazariya'.

He promised that if Mane invested and the film released on OTT platforms, there would be a profit share of Rs 12 lakh from a Rs 25 lakh investment and even offered him a role in the movie.

Influenced by this, Mane says he paid a total of Rs 40 lakh to Muchhal in instalments between December 2023 and March 2025.

Mane said that the film project was reportedly never completed. When he later asked for his money back, Muchhal initially promised repayment but then stopped responding and allegedly even blocked his calls.

With no refund and no progress on the project, Mane decided to take the matter to the police late this week.

Earlier, Mane also claimed that Muchhal was found in a compromising situation with another woman during wedding festivities.

"I was at the wedding celebrations (November, 23, 2025) when he was caught red-handed with another woman in bed. Bhayanak scene tha, he was beaten up by the Indian female cricketers. The entire family is chindi chor. I thought he’d get married and settle in Sangli, but it has completely backfired on me."

What Has Palash Muchhal Said?

In response, the composer has filed a Rs 10 crore defamation lawsuit against Mane.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, the composer said, "A legal notice of defamation of Rs 10 crore has been sent by my lawyer Shreyansh Mithare to Sangli based Vidnyan Mane for his false, outrageous and highly defamatory accusations made with the deliberate intent to malign my reputation and character,”

What about the personal background?

Muchhal has been in media attention recently for his cancelled wedding with Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana, which was called off late last year. The couple was scheduled to marry on November 23, but the ceremony was postponed after Smriti’s father, Shriniwas Mandhana, was hospitalised due to a heart ailment.

However, on December 7, Smriti taking to Instagram confirmed that her wedding with Palash Muchhal had been called off.

Later after Smriti's announcement, Palash also issued an public statement, saying, "I have decided to move on in my life and step back from my personal relationship.
