Raj Kundra
Entertainment News: Raj Kundra: Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra was questioned by the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police for about five hours on Monday. These questions were asked in connection with the fraud case of Rs 60 crores filed by businessman Deepak Kothari. During this, Raj Kundra took the names of two more Bollywood actresses besides his wife Shilpa.
During interrogation, Raj Kundra revealed that apart from Shilpa, money was also transferred to the bank accounts of Bipasha Basu and Neha Dhupia. Raj Kundra remained silent during the 5-hour long interrogation, after which the EOW is going to call him for further questioning.
Raj Kundra claimed during interrogation by the Economic Offenses Wing that money has been transferred directly from the company's account to the accounts of Shilpa, Neha and Bipasha as fees. Apart from this, transactions have also been detected from Balaji Entertainment. So far, EOW has detected direct transfers of about Rs 25 crore.
Not only this, the investigation also revealed that during demonetisation, the company's financial transactions were also deeply affected due to the shortage of cash, during which, some suspicious amounts were transferred to other accounts. Now the evidence of these transfers has been secured by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW).
The agency has also asked Raj Kundra to submit the videos he made for Best Deal, but he revealed that those videos have been handed over to the property cell. Now, the officials will get the videos from the company and then investigate further.
It is worth noting that in August, a businessman had filed a case against Shilpa Shetty, her husband Raj Kundra and another person for cheating of more than Rs 60 crore. Deepak Kothari, director and businessman of Lotus Capital Financial Services Limited, made the allegations and claimed that these incidents took place between 2015 and 2023
