The Tamil film industry is in mourning as veteran actor Rajesh passed away suddenly on May 29 in Chennai due to a heart attack. Known for his versatile roles spanning decades, Rajesh’s unexpected demise has left fans and colleagues shocked and deeply saddened.

Rajesh died of a heart attack on Thursday morning and was promptly taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His wife, Joan Sylvia, had also died earlier. The actor has a daughter, Divya, and a son, Deepak.

Born on December 20, 1949, in Mannargudi, Tiruvarur district, Rajesh initially worked as a school teacher before pursuing his passion for acting. He entered the industry with a small role in K in 1974. This marked the beginning of a prolific career in Tamil cinema.

Rajesh acted in more than 150 films spanning many decades. Notable performances include roles in Nayak, Khalnayak, and Gunachitra. He also earned acclaim for his work in Bhagyaraj’s Andha 7 Days.
