Mumbai: Almost three decades have passed; the paths of Raveena Tandon and Akshay Kumar also went in different directions, but still both their names often come up in discussion together. Many times the mention of Akshay appears in social media trends and search engine results as soon as Raveena's name comes up. Raveena says that now she finds this thing more funny than surprising.

“The old engagement still haunts us.”

During an interview, Raveena clearly said that she had moved ahead thinking that people would also move ahead, but that did not happen. "Our lives have moved on; we've been in different relationships, yet the Internet thinks we're still stuck there. People still keep an old engagement as a 'story,'" he said with a laugh.

“Everyone's life has changed, so what's the issue?”

Raveena says that in today's era, relationships forming and ending are nothing new. "How many people get divorced after marriage, remarry, and start a new life? But the old story of my life is still a hot spice for some people. We both have created our own worlds, but people's curiosity still does not end."

She also said that whenever she meets Akshay Kumar at any event, she talks in a normal manner. "We both have worked together, and even today when we meet, we treat each other with respect. People looking for drama in this have idle fantasies."

“The gossip of the 90s was the most toxic”

Raveena admitted that at that time gossip magazines used to exaggerate anything. "That's why I stopped reading such news. It is not wise to spoil your mind by reading useless things."

She also said that in the 90s, the same people who used to taunt actresses have now started calling themselves big advocates of women's rights. "Those who earlier used to comment on the body or clothes of actresses today give lectures on women's empowerment. The real change has come not in society but in appearance."

“Social media gave artists the right to express themselves”

Raveena believes that digital platforms have made the conditions better for artists. "Earlier, whatever was written was accepted as truth. Today, if someone spreads a lie, you can immediately present your side. This is the biggest facility today."
