‘Bads of Bollywood’: Wankhede Faces Setback in Defamation Case Against Aryan Khan; HC Asks, 'Why File in Delhi?'

Entertainment News: The defamation case related to Bollywood's King Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan's directorial debut web series 'Bads of Bollywood' has now reached the court. IRS officer Sameer Wankhede had demanded legal action in the series, accusing him of tarnishing the image of himself and his department.

Delhi High Court directs Wankhede to amend

The Delhi High Court questioned the seriousness of Sameer Wankhede's petition and asked him to amend the petition. Justice Kaurava asked why the case was filed in Delhi itself. Wankhede's lawyer demanded a 'passover' from the court so that the case could be heard later. The court admitted this request and said that lawyers can file their revised petition. Now the date of next hearing will decide the registry of Delhi High Court.

Sameer Wankhede's charge

Wankhede says that the web series has damaged violence, bad behavior and wrong image by damaging anti-drug agencies and the reputation of law enforcement. Due to this, public confidence is likely to be broken. He reported that the series includes some obscene and derogatory views, insulting the slogan of the national symbol 'Satyamev Jayate'. Wankhede claims that this has led to a violation of sections of the Information Technology Act and the Indian Penal Code.

Action sought in the petition

Sameer Wankhede, in his petition, demanded legal action against Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan -owned Red Chillies Entertainment Private Limited, Memorial Building and others. He has demanded a permanent restriction on the web series and compensation of Rs 2 crore from the court. He has also proposed that this amount should be donated to Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital.

Forward procedure

The Delhi High Court has allowed the lawyer to amend the petition. Only after the next hearing date is fixed, the court will decide whether the ban on the web series will apply or not. The case has once again highlighted the discussion of conflict between Bollywood and law enforcement, and it will be a matter to see in which direction the court settled the dispute.
