New Delhi: Telugu actor Allu Arjun appeared before the Hyderabad Police in connection with the Sandhya Theatre stampede that occurred on December 4 during the premiere of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule. The tragic incident resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman, Revathi, and left her young son critically injured.The stampede was reportedly triggered by an unannounced visit from Allu Arjun to the Sandhya Theatre, which led to a large crowd gathering unexpectedly. The theatre management had not made additional security arrangements, and there was no separate entry or exit for the actors team, exacerbating the situation. Allu Arjun was arrested by the Hyderabad City Police on December 13th but was granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court a few hours later.In a related development, Allu Arjuns bouncer, Antony, who leads the actors security team, was arrested. Reports suggest that Antony and his team ignored police instructions during the premiere, physically pushing officers and blocking their attempts to manage the crowd, which contributed to the stampede.Allu Arjun has expressed deep sorrow over the incident and announced a compensation of ₹25 lakh to the victims family. He also pledged to cover the medical expenses for the injured child.The investigation is underway focusing on the roles of the actors security team and the theatre management in the tragic incident.The incident has drawn widespread attention, leading to debates about the responsibility of celebrities, security arrangements at public events, and the need for stricter crowd management protocols.
