Sulakshana belonged to a household where music flowed naturally through every member. Being the niece of the celebrated classical maestro Pandit Jasraj, she inherited a strong musical legacy. Her father, Pratap Narayan Pandit, was also respected in the classical music world. Her brothers, the composer duo Jatin-Lalit, later defined the sound of Bollywood in the 90s. Her sister, Vijayta Pandit, too made her mark in films and music. Surrounded by artists, Sulakshana’s understanding of rhythm and emotion developed early. For her, music was not just performance-it was culture, discipline and identity.
