Ranbir Kapoor is returning to the big screen after his film Animal. Ranbir will play the part of Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. The King of Lanka, Ravana, will be portrayed by South celebrity Yash. Sunny Deol portrays the formidable Lord Hanuman, while South actress Sai Pallavi plays Sita.

How Much Did Sunny Charge?

From television to cinema, many versions of the Ramayana have been created in the past. However, Ramanand Sagar’s television version remains the most loved by audiences. Ranbir Kapoor now has the difficulty of making himself appear to the audience as Lord Ram.

Speaking of fees, actor Ranbir Kapoor has reportedly charged ₹65 crore for his role, while Sunny Deol, portraying Lord Hanuman, has received a fee between ₹40 to ₹45 crore for the film.

When Will the Film Release?

Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra and directed by Nitesh Tiwari. In addition, Yash, who plays the role of Ravana, is also one of the producers of the film. He has invested in it as well. Notably, international VFX company DNEG is also among the producers. The first part of the film is scheduled to release on Diwali 2026, and the second part will follow on Diwali 2027.
