New Delhi: Telugu film producer K P Choudhary has in his suicide note mentioned he was taking the extreme step due to depression and no one should be held responsible for his death, police said today.Telugu film producer K.P. Choudhary, known for producing the Telugu version of Rajinikanth's "Kabali," was found dead in his rented residence in Siolim village, North Goa district. A suicide note recovered from his bedroom indicated that he had been suffering from depression and stated that no one should be held responsible for his death. He also requested that his body be handed over to his mother, who resides in Tamil Nadu.

Police: K P Choudhary was suffering from depression

Choudhary, 44, had been under depression for the past few days, as mentioned in his note. In 2023, he was arrested by the Cyberabad Special Operations Team in connection with a drugs case, which reportedly left him deeply distressed. Following this, he relocated to Goa in an attempt to start anew by establishing a club, but the venture did not achieve the success he had hoped for, adding to his struggles.

Authorities are awaiting the arrival of Choudhary's family members to conduct the post-mortem examination. The film fraternity and his family are in shock over his untimely demise, which underscores the importance of mental health awareness and support within the industry.

He hailed from Bonakal, Khammam district

K P Chowdary was born in Bonakal, Khammam district, and initially was a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering student. However, his career took a distinct turn when he entered the film industry. He made his mark as a producer in 2016 with the hit film Kabali, starring Rajinikanth, and later acquired the distribution rights for notable Telugu films like Sardar Gabbar Singh and Seetamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, as well as the Tamil film Kanithan.
