The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Rana Pratap. His father's name is Tushar Kanti Bairagi. He was a resident of Arua village in Keshabpur Upazila.
According to eyewitnesses and police sources, Rana Pratap was sitting in the market when some unknown assailants opened fire on him. Rana sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died on the spot.
