Canadian police have arrested 25-year-old Abjeet Kingra in connection with the shooting at singer AP Dhillon’s home in Colwood, British Columbia. On September 10, 2024, gunfire targeted Dhillon's residence, and two parked cars outside the home were set ablaze. Authorities believe a second suspect, 23-year-old Vikram Sharma, has fled to India.

Details of charges against Kingra

Kingra, originally from Winnipeg, faces multiple charges, including “Discharge of a Firearm with Intent” and “Arson.” He was apprehended in Ontario and is scheduled for a court appearance on Friday. The investigation remains active, and police continue to gather evidence to support the charges.

A warrant has been issued for Sharma, who faces similar charges. Police believe he may now be in India. Without a recent photo, authorities have released his identity to the public and encouraged anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.

Gang-related background of the incident

The shooting is reportedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi-Rohit Godara gang, known for conflicts with high-profile individuals. After the release of Dhillon’s music video “Old Money,” featuring Bollywood icon Salman Khan, the gang allegedly warned Dhillon to “stay within his limits, or he will meet a ‘dog’s death.’” Authorities suspect the attack was a direct response to the video, escalating tensions between the gang and Bollywood-affiliated celebrities.
