Dhaka: Preparations for Eid-ul-Adha—also known as Bakrid—are in full swing across Bangladesh. Amidst this festive atmosphere, a buffalo market in Dhaka has suddenly become the subject of intense discussion on social media. Even international media outlets are covering these markets. The reason behind this buzz lies in the controversial names given to two buffaloes being sold there. For reasons unknown, the owners of these buffaloes decided to name them after two of the world's most powerful leaders: one has been named after US President Donald Trump, and the other after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The owners have now shared the full story behind this unique naming choice.
All this drama is unfolding at a farm in Narayanganj, near Dhaka, where massive crowds have gathered to catch a glimpse of the buffaloes named 'Trump' and 'Netanyahu.' People are traveling from far and wide to take photographs of the animals and observe them up close.
An albino buffalo weighing approximately 700 kilograms, currently housed at a farm in Narayanganj, has emerged as the star attraction. Its owner has christened this buffalo 'Donald Trump.' The owner describes the animal as extremely calm and gentle by nature; it has already been sold at a rate of approximately 550 Taka per kilogram and is set to be handed over to its new owner before Eid.
At another facility in the same locality—the SS Cattle Farm—resides a second albino buffalo, weighing in at over 750 kilograms. This animal has been named 'Benjamin Netanyahu', after the Israeli Prime Minister. According to the farm manager, this buffalo possesses an extremely aggressive and combative temperament. Whenever someone approaches to feed it, it begins to snort aggressively and attempts to strike with its horns. The manager notes that this buffalo is quite mischievous and possesses a remarkably cunning mind. There are a total of six albino buffaloes on this farm, and all of them are quite aggressive. Every day, crowds of hundreds gather just to catch a glimpse of them.
