Aircraft Crashes Into Building in Brazil, Video Goes Viral (Image Courtesy: Screengrab)
Brazil: A tragic accident occurred on Monday in Brazil's big city Belo Horizonte. A small plane suddenly crashed into a building in a residential area. Within moments of the collision, smoke and fire spread, causing chaos in the area. At least three people died in this accident, while two others are injured.
People who were there at that time told that the plane had come down a lot. It was clearly visible that something was wrong above. The pilot changed direction in an attempt to avoid tall buildings but that effort did not work. The plane struck the stairs of a three-story building and fell into a nearby parking lot. The impact was so strong that the windows of nearby houses shook.
According to the fire department, the pilot and co-pilot died as soon as the plane fell. The rest of the passengers were rushed to the hospital but one more person could not survive there either. Two people are still undergoing treatment and doctors have said that their condition is stable.

When the fire officials took stock of the spot, they themselves said that it was a big thing that the plane hit the stairs. If it had gone even a little further and collided with a flat, the families sitting inside would not have been saved. Many people were at home in the building at that time. There was a difference of just one or two meters which saved many lives.
Stairs broke, some part burnt but the entire building is safe. There is no danger of the building collapsing and all the people inside were evacuated safely.

Investigating agencies are still scanning the debris. The initial report only says that the pilot kept trying to control the plane till the last moment. Was there a technical glitch or something else – this will be known only after the investigation is completed.
Last year, there were 153 air accidents in Brazil alone and 62 people died. This figure shows that a lot still remains to be done regarding air security in the country. Every time there is an investigation, a report comes and then a new accident happens.
The people living in the building were at home that day and still survived — no greater relief than this in this entire tragedy.
