A shocking incident has surfaced from the United States where a black man died after a US police official pinned him down on the ground and kneeled on his neck.

The incident came to light after Ohio police came under intense scrutiny following the release of body camera footage showing officers pinning a black man onto the ground. the Canton Police Department captured the moments leading up to the death of Frank Tyson, who was suspected of leaving the scene of a single-car accident on April 18.

In the footage, officials can be seen assaulting Tyson in the bar, where he can be seen pleading for help and his repeated cries of ‘I can’t breathe.’ The officers can be seen wrestling him to the ground and handcuff him, with one applying pressure on his neck.

After several minutes when officers noticed his lack of responsiveness, they proceeded to administer CPR.

Soon after he was rushed to hospital where he died.

There are unsettling similarities between the events leading up to Tyson's death and George Floyd's deadly run-in with Minneapolis police in 2020, which caused outcry on a worldwide scale.

Beau Schoenegge and Camden Burch, the officers in Tyson's case, have been placed on administrative leave while the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation conducts its investigation.
