Donald Trump Saudi Arabia Visit: The US President, who arrived in Riyadh on an official visit for the first time after his second term on Tuesday, has approved a major defense deal worth about $142 billion with Saudi Arabia. Earlier, Trump had visited this oil-rich Gulf country in 2017 during his first term, which shows the closeness between the two.

The White House called it the biggest deal in history and said that a historic defense deal worth about $142 billion has been signed between the US and Saudi Arabia regarding weapons. This includes everything from military equipment to its services. The export of gas turbines and other commercial deals have also been approved in the agreement.

Important visit in the time of American crisis

After approving the Saudi arms deal, the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency said that this proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by strengthening the defense of the ally country, which will enable political stability and economic progress in the Gulf region.

Trump's visit to the Middle East holds special significance amid the crisis-ridden US economy. During this visit, he will also visit Qatar along with the UAE. The main objective of his visit is the economic issue, in which he hopes that he will be able to bring huge investments for the US economy from the Gulf countries.

Saudi Arabia to get US arms

Earlier, Saudi Arabia had announced its plan to invest about $600 billion in the US in the next four years. However, Trump had expressed hope that this investment of Saudi Arabia would increase to $1 trillion. In the first week of May, the US has given initial approval to supply Saudi Arabia with air-to-air missiles worth $3.3 billion. Other weapons are also expected to be supplied to it. The weapons that will be supplied to Saudi Arabia include about a thousand AIM-120C-8 state-of-the-art medium range air-to-air missiles, guidance systems and other defense equipment. These missiles will be manufactured by RTX Corp of Tucson.
