New Delhi: This time a different scene was seen in Davos when Elon Musk reached the stage of the World Economic Forum for the first time. This is the same platform that he has been criticizing for years. Musk lightened the atmosphere as soon as he arrived, sometimes with jokes and sometimes with serious talks about technology and the future.
During the conversation on stage, Musk joked about US President Donald Trump's new initiative “Board of Peace”. He said that when he heard its name, he thought it was not a “piece” but a “piece of peace”, like Greenland or some part of Venezuela. The people present in the hall laughed at his words and the atmosphere became quite light.

Musk spoke openly not only on politics but also on topics like technology, energy, artificial intelligence and space. He said that the world will change rapidly in the coming years and the biggest reason for this change will be AI and robots.
Musk also raised questions on US energy policy. He said that if there were no heavy taxes and trade barriers on solar panels, America could generate all the electricity it needs from solar energy alone. He believes that the entire country can be provided electricity by setting up solar plants in a small part of a few states, but the current tariffs are making it unnecessarily expensive.
Musk says that in the future there may be more robots than humans. He claimed that this technology will become the biggest means of reducing world poverty and improving the standard of living. He also said that Tesla's self-driving technology is expected to be approved in Europe and China soon.
At the end of the program, Musk also talked about his favorite topic, i.e. Mars. He said smilingly,
“People ask do I want to die on Mars? I say – yes, but not by crashing.” The whole hall laughed again at this joke.
The event was moderated by BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, who praised Musk's vision and risk-taking habit. Many people were surprised to see that the same Musk who once criticized Davos is presenting a picture of the future on the same platform.
Overall, Musk's first visit to Davos turned out to be an interesting mix of jokes, controversy and serious thoughts.
