U.S. President Donald Trump, addressing the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting via video conferencing, declared that a "golden age of America" has begun with his second term in office. He expressed confidence that the United States would soon become stronger, more united, and wealthier than ever before. His remarks were delivered on January 20, coinciding with his inauguration as president for a second term and the opening day of the WEF's five-day summit.

"A golden age of America has begun. Our country will soon be stronger, united, and wealthier than ever," Trump stated. He emphasized that the entire world would benefit from increased peace and prosperity as a result of the measures his administration has taken and plans to implement in the coming years.

Oil prices and global stability

Trump pledged to request Saudi Arabia and OPEC to lower oil prices, asserting that a reduction would lead to an immediate resolution of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. "The United States has the largest amount of oil and gas in the world, and I'm going to use it," he declared.

Economic reforms and inflation control

Highlighting his administration's swift actions, Trump said, "We’ve achieved in four days what others couldn’t in four years." He criticized the previous Biden administration for leaving behind economic challenges, including soaring global food prices. Trump detailed his efforts to control inflation in the U.S. and announced plans for the largest tax cuts in American history to benefit citizens.

Encouraging domestic manufacturing

Trump reiterated his commitment to boosting domestic manufacturing. "If a business doesn't manufacture its products in America, there will be tariffs to pay," he warned, adding that global companies have already committed billions of dollars to set up facilities in the U.S.

"We will restore common sense among Americans," Trump concluded, reinforcing his vision for a prosperous and unified nation.
